The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) https://www.ceramictilefoundation.org/ is a third party organization that validates a tile setters skill sets. A certified tile installer (CTI) has successfully completed a written and physical installation testing. The testing has been completed using the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) installation and methods set forth in the https://www.tile-assn.com/ handbook, The installation methods are in part adopted from the American National Standards Institute and Tile Industries Manufacture's installation recommendations methods.
The NTCA (National Tile Contractors Association) was established in 1947. The NTCA is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to the professional installation of ceramic tile and natural stone. It is widely recognized as the largest and most respected tile contractors association in the world.
